CYPRUS. Paphos. Uncertain kings, circa 500-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 11.13 g, 6 h). 'Wa-the-wo/ro-se' (in Cypriote syllabic script) The river-god Bokaros, in the form of a man-headed bull, kneeling right, head to left; above, pellet-in-crescent; in exergue, uncertain devices. Rev. 𐠞 - 𐠪 ('Pa-si' in Cypriot syllabic script) Astralagos; to right, ivy leaf; all within circular incuse. BMC 1 and pl. VIII, 1 and XXI, 2 var. (no ivy leaf) Jameson 2334 var. (no ivy leaf). Weber 7701 var. (no ivy leaf). Struck from worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
